You must wear official academic dress (a gown, hood and cap) to your ceremony.

Hiring your Academic Dress

You should arrange academic gown, hood and hat hire direct with Ede and Ravenscroft - Cap and Gown registration will open on Wednesday 8th April and will close Friday, 26 June 2020. Robes ordered after the closing date cannot be guaranteed.

Collecting your academic dress

Your academic dress will be available for you to collect from the Robing Room, which will be located in University Place (37 on the campus map). 

The robing room will open at 8am and graduands will only be issued with their academic dress on production of the order number issued to them by Ede and Ravenscroft either by email at the time of ordering online, or through the telephone call centre, and can only be collected upto 2hours before their assigned ceremony.

Female graduands may find it useful to bring some hairpins to hold their hats in place and safety pins for their hoods.

Returning your academic dress

Graduands hiring academic dress must retain the name label and pin for use when they return the items after the ceremony.

Robes should be returned to Ede & Ravenscroft in University Place immediately following the ceremony, except those who have paid to keep their gown for an extra week. For attendance at 10am, 12noon, 2pm and 4pm ceremonies, academic dress must be returned to University Place robing by 6.00pm on that day.  For attendance at 6pm ceremonies, academic dress must be returned by 7:30pm pn that day.
