Guest tickets FAQs

How do I request guest tickets?

You request guest tickets as part of the registration process once you have selected the option to attend.

All graduates are guaranteed two guest tickets free of charge. If there is a specific reason you require additional tickets, please add the number of required tickets and your comments to the the Student System when completing the registration.

The deadline to complete this is Friday, 27 June 2025.

The requests will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis, considering the capacity of the Hall and the Health and Safety arrangement. Additional tickets will only apply for the ceremony in the Hall, not for the celebration marquee.

If your request for additional tickets is approved, we'll confirm your guest tickets in your confirmation email onThursday, 3 July 2025. You'll need to show this email at the registration desk, University Place (37 on the campus map) when collecting your tickets on the day of your ceremony.

You can't collect tickets or register more than two hours before your assigned ceremony.

(Please note: there are separate instructions for Global MBA Students to register for their guest tickets.)

How much are the tickets?

There is no charge for guest tickets.

When will I receive my tickets?

You will receive your guest tickets along with your seat number in the same pack when you arrive at the registration desk in University Place two hours before the ceremony is due to start.

Please ensure you give your guest tickets to your guests as they will be required to hand them in at the guest entrance point into the Whitworth Hall. You should keep hold of your seating number as you'll be required to hand it in at the main entrance point into the Whitworth Hall.

How many guests can I bring?

We guarantee two tickets per graduate for everyone who completes registration by Friday, 27 June 2025.

Can children come to the ceremony?

The duration of our graduation ceremonies are approximately 45 minutes to one hour, and are not tailored for young children, although their attendance is permitted. Children over four years of age are required to have their own seats and guest ticket. Due to the length of the ceremony and for health and safety reasons, we do not recommend having children on your lap, although children up to four years of age are permitted to sit on other guests’ laps.
