When are winter 2024 graduation ceremonies?

Winter graduation ceremonies for the Class of 2024 will be taking place from Monday, December to Friday, 13 December 2024. The full list of dates and times of each ceremony will be published on this website, and we'll email you with further instructions on how to register.

Where are the graduation ceremonies being held?

The graduation ceremonies are hosted every year at the Whitworth Hall (No. 50 on the campus map).

How do I know if I’m potentially eligible to attend?

If you are in your final year of your programme and due to complete and be fully awarded this winter, then you will be identified as potentially eligible to attend the ceremony. We will be sending confirmation emails to all students with confirmed attendance on Thursday, 5 December 2024.

How much will it cost to attend?

There is no cost for your ceremony. Your entrance is free and includes a maximum of two free guest tickets.

Graduation is a formal event and all Graduands must wear the gown, hood and mortarboard/cap appropriate for their level of award. The University has appointed Ede & Ravenscroft as our preferred gown supplier.

The cost of online gown hire from Ede & Ravenscroft is £42 for a Bachelor and Masters gown and £56 for a Doctoral gown.

If you forget to pre-order your gown, the hire cost on the day will be higher than the prices above.

If you hire or purchase your gown from another source, you must ensure that it is the correct colour, design and style for your level of award. If it is not, you will not be permitted to attend your ceremony.

Optional and additional costs include professional photography, parking, food and drinks on campus etc.

How and when will I be able to register to attend?

The instruction on how to register will be emailed to your university and personal email address we currently hold on your student record when registration opens on Thursday, 10 October 2024.
